Meet Our Board of Directors

 Marielys Camacho-Reyes, Board President / CEO

Marielys Camacho-Reyes, MS, (an Army Veteran, and a retired Army Wife), is the founder and editor-in-chief of The Northeast Polk Gazette.

Marielys' recent book Cleaning Out My Closet: My Road from Self-Discovery to Emotional Healing is currently available in Amazon

She currently lives in Haines City, FL with her family. 

Marielys holds a Master of Science degree in Psychology, and a BA in Criminal Justice. She is currently working on completing a Post-Graduate Journalism Certificate with the Michigan State University School of Journalism. 

Marielys is a member of the Florida Writers Association, and a proud supporter for the Society of Professional Journalist (SPJ), the KidsPack Inc, and for the K-9 for Warriors Organizations.

 

Alex Morales-Hernandez, Board Member / COO

Alex Morales-Hernandez, the CEO and President of CW3RET Enterprise, LLC (DBA: EEC Solutions) was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico where he lived until he enlisted in the United States Army. 

He is a 2013 graduate of Central Michigan University with a Master of Science in Administration.

Alex enlisted in the United States Army on 18 April 1995 and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer Three after 21 years of military service. He served in the Special Operations Enterprise and lastly in the Defense Attaché System as the Operations Coordinator, Assistant Army Attaché, and Acting Defense Attaché in countries such as Bolivia, Chad, El Salvador, Colombia, Malawi, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.

Alex is a recipient of numerous military awards including the 3rd highest award in the Department of State “Award for Heroism.”

He speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and French.

 

Melody Morales-Camacho, Board Member / Secretary 

Melody, born in Manati, Puerto Rico, traveled the world for almost 18 years alongside her two military parents and siblings.

Throughout this time, she was able to see and experience many different parts of the world, some of these being Zimbabwe, Colombia, El Salvador, Bolivia, and Panama. Understanding the diverse cultures, as well as, becoming a part of them was a factor that really impacted her upbringing and shaped her into the person she is today.

Upon returning to the United States, and in only 3 years, Melody obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Management from The University of Tampa. Shortly after graduating, she obtained a full-time job with a software development firm in St. Petersburg, FL, and became the company's youngest director as the Human Resources Director.

Melody is a bi-lingual professional, native in English and Spanish. She has acquired extensive Human Resouces and customer service experience since 2014. 

 

 Aida Betancourt, Board Member / Fundraising and Marketing Director

Aida Betancourt, Army Veteran, Photographer, Independent Writer, and Blogger.  

Aida holds a Masters in Management of Information Services from University of Phoenix and a BA in Psychology from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico.  She also has certifications in Photography from New York Institute of Photography and is a Toastmaster Competent Communicator. She is currently working on her Life and Health Coach Certification.  

Aida is a member of the American Legion. She is the owner of Aida Betancourt Photography. She recently launched her new website www.MindBodySoulWholeness.me.

She is currently co-writing her first book about her Army experiences.  

Aida resides in Central Florida with her family.
